J2EE Architect Description:
The successful candidate will join CGI's E-Business team located at our 595 Bay Street office in downtown Toronto.
The J2EE Architect will provide in depth architecture and design guidance and leadership on Java/J2EE projects. You will also assist in pre-sale activities and opportunity evaluations, propose alternative architecture approaches to a business problem, articulate the considerations for such approaches in business and technical terms, and provide mentoring to junior members of the team.
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (Masters preferred) and
be Java Certified, preferably at the Solution Developer and Architect levels. Any other vendor certifications are an asset (e.g. BEA). You will have 10-12 years experience in the in software industry, a minimum 5 of which have been in Java/J2EE architecture. You will possess advanced knowledge of Java/J2EE architecture (EJB,
JSP,
JDBC, JMS, JTS) and OOA/D, development/deployment experience with application servers such as BEA WebLogic and WebSphere. Extensive experience in server side development is required. You must be an expert at leading Java/J2EE projects and e-business architectures (B2B, B2C, and P2P) with a thorough understanding of design
patterns and developmental frameworks. Experience with
testing methodologies - alpha, unit and integration testing is required along with knowledge of modeling tools such as Rational
Rose and TogetherJ.
You will have a demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor senior developers. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail and accuracy, are an absolute must. Prior consulting experience is a definite asset. Minimal travel within Ontario and Quebec may be required.
