Hi,

I am planning to go for 1Z0-813 (upgrade from OCA or SCJP for Java SE 6 or prior ). I had done SCJP for a very old version of java 1.2 back in around 2002. I have been working in various version of java since then but now decided to go for an upgrade to 8.

My questions is how and when do they verify my previous version. Do they verify before I take the exam or do they verify after the exam. Do I need to provide a proof of previous certification to them?

They verify after. If you took the exam recently, it is in the cert system. If not, you might have to contact Oracle.
