I changed a layout xml file and removed a button at the end of the first line.
I created a .apk file and tested the app in Oracle's VM running Android 4.2.2 and the button was gone.

I then moved to some real devices. I uninstalled the old version of the app and installed the new version.
When I test it, the button is back where it was in the earlier  version.
My Samsung tablet is running 4.4.2
My Lenovo tablet is running 5.0.1

What's happening?
How do I remove the ghost button?

SOLVED - I forgot about the parallel layout folders with an older version of the file.  Deleted the other folder and problem fixed.
Note: I last worked on this code in 2014.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
