Hi guys, I have been prepared the 1Z0-809 for a few months, but the problem is that I made so many study breaks due the job and when I came back to the studies felt that I lose so many things. Even I had to reschedule my exam few times. Now I have the exam this Friday and the results are this ones. Do you think it would be possible to pass the exam or better reschedule it again. The preparation of this one is being much more difficult than the OCA in which obtained an 80% and, to be honest I am feeling very bad right now thinking in the idea of reschedule it again. The resources I am using are the book of Scott and Jeanne and the API Documentation. Any other resources or tricks recommended?

Foundation : 55% ( 18th November )
Test 1 : 17% ( 7th May )
Test 2 : 28% ( 8th May )
Test 3 : 38% ( 24th July )

Cheers,

Robin

The OCP 8 (1Z0-809) is quite tough. So, given these scores, it doesn't look like you are ready for the exam. I would suggest you to reschedule. Also, stop taking mock exams and focus more on theory from the book. May be try another book to make it more interesting. After one round of preparation from book, take just one mock exam ( Test 4) and see how you score. Post it here for further advice

Robin,
From our book, I recommend:
  • type in all the examples (without an IDE). This will give you lots of practice
  • .
  • Do the end of chapter questions repeatedly. Seriously. Keep doing them until you can spot and explain all the tricks
  • Take the 3 bonus exams on the sybex website that come with the book. Again, repeat until you do well on those.

  • After that, go back to Enthuware. The reason is that you don't want to "use up" all the mock exams because then you don't know how you are doing.

Our book questions are designed to be hard to memorize through multiple retakes. And by taking them mutliple times, you are kind of using them as flashcards and training your brain to see core concepts and tricks.

As you noticed the OCP 8 is a lot harder than the OCA 8. Don't worry, you'll get there!
