Is "OCP: Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 8 Programmer II Study Guide" covers all exam topics?

Hi, I use "OCP: Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 8 Programmer II Study Guide" to prepare for my OCP 8 exam. I took Whizlab mock test a few hours ago and the result was quite good (82.35%). There's one problem: Multiple questions in Whizlab exam was not covered at all in the book. Below are a few example:
1/ Which of the following isolation level will block all kind of reads on a row until the transaction is committed?
A. TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED
B. TRANSACTION_READ_UNCOMMITTED
C. TRANSACTION_ REPEATABLE_READ
D. TRANSACTION_SERIALIZABLE
E. TRANSACTION_READ

2/  public static void main(String args[]){
               Locale loc = new Locale.Builder().setRegion("CA").build(); //CA for Canada

               System.out.print(loc.getDisplayLanguage(new Locale("En")));
               System.out.print( loc.getDisplayCountry(new Locale("En")));
               }
}
Which can be true regarding above code?
A.Compilation succeeds.
B.Compilation fails.
C.At line 6, we have done a mistake by not setting the region using setLanguage() method.
D.The output will be “English Canada”`
E.The output will be “Canada”

3/Consider following three statements.
                               I.            Using the ResourceBundle.Control we can specify how to locate the ResourceBundle.

                             II.            It defines a set of callback methods that are invoked by the ResourceBundle.getBundle factory methods during the bundle loading process.

                           III.            Using the ResourceBundle.Control we can specify how long the resource bundle can exist in the cache.

Which of the above statements are true?

My question is should I worry about those questions or what has been covered in the book is enough for the exam?
Thank you.

Welcome to CodeRanch!

Transactions are not on theOCP 8  exam. They were on older versions of the exam (I think) so the first question might have been left over from that. For the other two questions, you only need to know the basics of ResourceBundles. Whizlabs is going into more detail than you need to know.

The tricky thing about cert books and mock exams is getting the "line" of what is on the exam right. Everyone will have some extra stuff. After all, we can't plagiarize from the test. The trick is going beyond in ways that don't give the reader more things to memorize.

Hi Jeanne,
Thank you for answering my question. So can I be sure that the content in the books cover all areas that the exam will have? Or at least 90%? Because I just did another mock exam on Whizlab and there are roughly another 10 questions that the book didn't mention.
Thank you again!

Anh,
I can definitely guarantee 90% coverage. (And probably more like 95%-98% coverage.) It's hard to guarantee 100% because absolutes are hard in general .

I've heard from multiple people that Whizlabs goes way beyond what is on the exam though. So yes, you are ok.
