That's a bit of an odd question. Java is a programming language (and via its JRE an environment to execute code cross-platform).  If you are in doubt why programming languages are useful, I'm afraid an answer to that will take more than a forum post can reasonably provide :-)

What's more, you already know that, as you showed in https://coderanch.com/t/713613/java/start-learning-Java#3341314. Or did you not write that yourself?
