Good day everyone...I have been preparing myself for OCA 8 exam. Almost ready to write the OCA 8 exam. My question is : does anyone here knows when the OCP 8 exam ends? I would like to prepare for it also.

Please look on the Oracle website; they give long notice before they withdraw an exam.

I shall move you to our exam forum, where you might be lucky and win a book.

Thank you Ritchie, I would to believe that there is no such notice yet...

That's a pleasure I can't remember how much notice they give, but the last time they withdrew an exam, they extended its lifetime. You should have more than enough time to learn for and pass the exam even if they give notice they are withdrawing it.

OCP7 was retired in December 2018.
OCP6 was retired in May 2018.

Hopefully that is not a pattern, and OCP8 won't get retired too soon.
But I probably will just prepare for OCP11 instead.
I passed OCA7 before,
but failed to meet the deadline for OCP7 because of other stuff.
I would like to avoid this with OCP8, and just go for OCP11.

That was 8½ years after Java7 was issued and 4 years after Java8 appeared.

Not sure why you are preparing for the OCA 8 exam. If you have already passed OCA 7, you can go straight for the OCP Java 11 Part 2 (1Z0-816) exam.

No, what I meant was I'm preparing for OCA11. But I think I'll also consider your suggestion of going to OCP11 directly.

I think it isn't called OCA any more, but OCP part I/OCP part II. Please check on the Oracle website.

I will suppress my every urge. But not this shameless plug:
