Dear Software developer Mooses and Meeses,

Well, I'm finally here... I've got the passion, a lot of the knowledge and some of the abilities one might find in a successful software developer.

My mind is focused on contributing now to projects outside of my own so that I can point at them and say "look I did that".

Where is hte best place to contribute?

Stackoverflow contributions kind of sucked down the drain unless you constantly do it.
No one cares much about your twitter feed.
I'm NEVER making a Linkedin acct because I'm against Facebookism and dumping private information online.

Any ideas?

Hi Chris,
For answering questions, here at the ranch.  Note that we also have a blog around the campfire forum which can be used to link to external blog posts for discussion or you could write something inline.

As far as actually projects/code, github/gitlab are the best free places to store code to show an employer.

Why? Linked In is for lead generation. If you apply yourself, you are in the queue
