Hi all,

Recently I got a problem as MY Ubuntu machine is starting with Guest session only. On login window, it shows me only guest session to start with

Than how can I login with my login ID to access all installed files and software?

Since many times it was working fine, but suddenly today I start my laptop and came to know that ubuntu is only able to login using guest session only, not my login id.

Actually there is no option available to login using my login ID. Please help me guys.

Thanks,
Sunil Chauhan

Try to click CTRL + ALT + F3, does it drop you out of graphical UI to terminal, where you actually could switch users? sudo su - username

Tried that but it's not working. This command opens tty window only, here I can login to my account and check my files.

But I want to open GUI, not to access files from tty window.

Can you guys please help me here?

Have you tried this? Some of the threads on the second page specifically mention your exact problem and how people solved it.

My main issue is I am able to see guest session on my login screen and also I can login to guest session too. But I can't see my name to login in login screen.

But I can open tty window from guest session only. But I can't open GUI window for my login user.

This is what my problem is.
