Is Cors Filter a necessity ?

I would like to seek opinion as to if it is still a necessity to apply Cors Filter to Web App nowadays ?

Servlet 4.0, JSP, Maven, Tomcat

What do you mean by "necessity"? Does the app use CORS? If not, why would it be needed?

CORS is only needed if your web application needs to perform AJAX calls to different hosts. If all of your AJAX endpoints are on the same host as the web app itself, then you don't need CORS at all.

Given the speculative nature of your question I'm going to assume your web app is working just fine, which means that you don't need to worry about CORS.

If CORS was a problem then the front end of your app would be unable to communicate with the back end.
