Hey guys ,

I have been in confusion which exam to give between 808and ,815.
My preparation was almost over before I had to pause the preparation because of my University exams.

But then when I resumed , I realized that Oracle has new exam 815 for Java 11. I am good at Java 8 but I'm not sure about Java 11.

Can I go for 816 exam after 808? Or will it be better for me to take 815 after preparing additional topics? I'm really confused and moreover I see ambiguity in the syllabus as few people who have given exam told me exam had questions on topics which aren't mentioned on Oracle site. I see the resources are less for 815.

Can I go for 816 after clearing 808? If that is allowed, please do let me know.

Cheers,
Ashish.

If you hold an OCA 7/8 certification title, then yes, you can take the 1Z0-816 exam to obtain an OCP title.  That said, there may be a lot of material that is new to you if you take this path.  For example, it’s hard to answer questions about module services if you’ve never written a module.

At the end of the day, which path you choose is up to you.  It can be a very personal choice, and you need to decide what you want to get out of the certification.  Good luck!

Thank you Scott. Actually I’m in path of learning and improve my knowledge over a period of time. But getting a certificate will boost my confidence and increases my appetite for learning more in Java. I heard that unless I clear two exams , I will not get any certification for java 11.

I’m eager to see my name on oracle certificate and I’m too impatient to wait till I clear both exams. By now, I feel 808 suits me

Cheers,
Ashish.
