Oracle announced that they are retiring the Java 8 upgrade exams at the end of February:

1Z0-810 Exam
1Z0-813 Exam

I blogged about your choices.

This means I've been giving bad advice. I've been saying it is better to upgrade to the OCP 8 and do 11 later (to get a Java cert sooner). Now there's a countdown on the advice.

Thanks for heads up!
Seems Oracle preferred 90-days notice (while they say 180-day notice can used for some certifications, but not in this case...)
