Do these Oracle exams come with any validity like after a year they expire or as such?

What if one day Oracle remove the Java 8 main exams ? Still does certification of Java 8 is valid in market? I know few certifications of Microsoft comes with fixed term of validity.

I ain't sure of Oracle exams , May be you guys know it well.

Ashish,
They are valid forever. "Retirement" means no new people can take the exam. The cert doesn't expire.

That said, a certification from Java 1.2 isn't every impressive at this point. So it's really up to the market and I'm sure there are regional differences.

I think I lost a bet on this one with Jeanne.  I was actually predicting Oracle have a 3 year expiration on the Java 11 cert, and move toward dropping cert version numbers.  This is how AWS works for example.. you are certified for 3 years.  The exam is constantly changing, though, so the version you take 3 years later will be very different, even if the exam number is the same.  That said, I'm glad they kept things more organized!

And to think I wasted the opportunity to bet money on that .

Scott, I even came across Microsoft exams which expire after certain time. Thanks to Oracle for not keeping it that way 😊.

Jenn, Next time make sure you don't waste such opportunity (:
