Connection pooling statistics

Is there any way to get connection pooling statistics from a datasource, like number of connection currently checked out, total number of connections in the pool, etc...

You can use the ResourceAnalyzer to get this for you and display it -- unfortunately there's not programmatic way to do this in WAS 4.0 -- that is coming in WAS 5.0 with the Performance Management Infrastructure API with JMX.
