There is something about the Java coderanch webpage that is not lost on me and any diehard fans of classic restaurants such as Texas Land & Cattle Steakhouse. The designers of coderanch webpage seem to have been inspired somehow by a place such as Texas Land & Cattle. The browny HTML background, the rich layout: tables, tiles, framework, cascading style sheet, etc.
True, all of this may have little or nothing to do with core Java DeveloperWorks, line by line and precept by precept or SCJP test, but Java has a distinctive flavor and is there any true Java Programmer or Developer out there who doesn't know Java flavor? Yes, I have been away from Java coderanch and SCJP test and IBM and Oracle Java Developer's workshops at Austin, Dallas and Houston, TX for a while; but no one who had ever sipped from the deep fountain of Java rich brew can ever throw away that programming jewel.
I will be back, someday, pretty soon. See you in Dallas or Austin!

Texas has good food; steaks but I'm not too sure about the beer.  Belgium and maybe Yorkshire for the beer, but not steaks!
