I'm writing an application in python and I would like to create a new window through which to display my curses application. To clarify, I want a separate window that is managed through the graphical desktop, not a separate window object for curses, which the curses application can be displayed through, a la Dwarf Fortress. I have not found any resources on this topic as I have been unable to write out the request in a way that Google understands. I am somewhat of a newcomer to curses, but I understand python. If this might involve a library, I am willing to implement, especially since I'm in the early stages of development. I personally think the code itself is irrelevant in this situation, but if you would like to see it, It's on my personal repl.it under curses-game.
As always, thanks for any help or insight you could provide.
No, I'm not looking for a GUI Library, especially not Tkinter. I'm looking for a way to generate a window associated with the application that renders a curses application. Similarly to how when you run dwarf fortress there's a window that appears and renders all the game in ASCII and Unicode. How do I accomplish this in python? Specifically Python 3.6+
