Why are you looking for other solutions? In what way is your current one deficient? Why should it be open source?

The reason for looking for open source is not planning to buy until it is required as already using lots of commercial softwares

So you're looking for a free tool, not necessarily an open source tool? There are free to use graphics tools that are not open source. What OS should this run on?

But we can't really recommend something different if we don't know what the tool needs to do, and how your current tool is deficient.

When I search for "free alternatives to photoshop", I get lots of options, quite a few claiming cross-platform compatibility. Gimp is probably the most powerful one, but has a learning curve similar to Photoshop.
