The last time I went to the gallery for cards, I was a bit surprised to be called by name. It was one of the young women I was singing G&S with back in the Autumn.
She introduced me to Morley himself, who explained briefly the difference between the impressionist style (Renoir) and the expressionist style (Derain). He paints local scenes in several styles like that; the link shows one in the style of Cézanne. Many of them show our friendly neighbourhood (well, about 9 miles from where I am writing) hill, or more precisely our friendly neighbourhood 99% of a hill.
