Cant believe but I am done with this... Despite I have really bad experience!
I tried to take this exam since March, but every time there were new troubles, because of which I cant start or continue this exam.
Today was not an exception, because after 25 questions I lost internet connection. Cant believe!
But a few minutes later internet was again there, and I tried to continue.
I was so surprised, when I started the program again (after I closed it with ctrl del alt) and started just where I finished.
When I called chat support, they asked me: "How may I help you?" - I said what is happened and they just said "ok. good luck!"
I thought my exam will be cancelled because of regulations, but it was not.
After loss of ~2o min, I continued exam and despite the fact that I thought about this event the rest of the time, I passed exam with 73%.
And I am very happy that I passed because I really h@te online certification. Next time only test center. Here a photo with internet issue.

P.S. why I have had a question about "serialized" ? I learned with OCA books and there was nothing about.   or maybe I forget about it?

Congratulations!
Good to know that they are being considerate of  the issues faced by examinees at home/office set up.

Well done

Maybe they would have taken action had you failed. It is a bit like the “advantage rule” at football. The ref will decline to whistle for a foul if the team who have suffered the foul score immediately afterwards. Or look like scoring. Had they offered you a free resit, you would have lost the passing mark.

Congrats! Serialization is not in scope for the exam. Sometimes Oracle puts unscored questions in to test things though so it was probably that.

Thank you all!

Now I am thinking about how to continue my Java Path? As a college student, who normally has less time for hobbys?

How did you prepare for the exam? Which online practice tests did you use?

I took the exam on April 9th from home. My experience was not good, needless to say i did not pass. During the exam, I was conscious of the camera. The proctor kept interrupting me (3 times) to adjust my camera so she can see me. I lost several minutes with that and every time after she interrupted I would be more conscious.

Also, not having a paper to write was very hard for me.  The whiteboard on the exam was not user friendly.

I practiced Mock exams using WhizLabs and the questions on the exam where nothing like the question on WhizLabs. The questions on the actual exam where much harder. The code one the exam was a screen full and the answer choices have several lines of code as well. Did any one else have similar experience?

Any suggestion or guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Anu

Hi Anu,
Sorry to hear about your experience.
Were you using the integrated laptop webcam or an external USB camera? I am guessing that you were using an external camera (because the integrated webcam can't really be adjusted much). One of our students had a similar issue because of loosely mounted external webcam.

On the top center of the exam software screen, there is a small square block where it shows what your webcam is capturing and showing to the proctor.  If you are seeing yourself in that area, that means the proctor is able to see you.

I was using the Integrated laptop webcam. I could see myself in the window that was in the middle of the screen. But the proctor kept saying she needed to see me better and kept asking me to adjust my camera, so i was moving the laptop to different positions until she was convinced of the view. But that meant i had to sit uncomfortably and readjust myself to the point i started panicking and got slower.

Paul Anilprem - do you work for Enthuware? Are the questions on Enthuware similar to the ones on the actual exam?
I was passing the exams on WhizLabs and so i went into the exam feeling very confident. But during the exam I was shocked and felt like ambushed (by myself)  when I realized the exams questions are NO WHERE  similar to the ones on WhizLabs. They where so length and so much harder.

I see. That is definitely troublesome. Could have tripped anyone.

Yes, I work for Enthuware. Yes, we believe our questions closely match the real questions in terms of topic coverage, style, and toughness. But they are not the same. Also, an important part of the simulator is the explanations. We try to make sure that an explanation to a question provides complete information about the concept involved in that question.

May I ask, what other resources did you use? We recommend going through a book before attempting mock exams.

I used OCA Study Guide book by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff. I also used the SYBEX practice tests with the same author. And I did the WhizLabs tests.
While the book was a good start and it covered the topics on the exam. As I was taking the practice tests on WhizLabs I realized the Study Guide only gave the basic information. It was not in depth as it should be to prepare for the exam.
