I am unable to know how to get my SQL driver

Hello guys, I am trying to learn creating java apps that save data on SQL servers, I found this Tutorial I was following

I am stuck on this part in which I run the app and I get the following error:



I have no idea how to find my JDBC driver

How did you add the JDBC driver to the classpath? That's what steps 2 to 5 are about.

Please tell us how you downloaded and installed MySQL, and the driver. (Actually, you probably don't install drivers.)

I did step 2 to 5 exactly as it said, I downloaded MySQL 8.0 from the website and i used the MySQL command line client and then i launch the workbench to make sure it has been made

Hmm... maybe we need to see the method common.AccessStudentsCalls.connectToDB().

Just have to ask, you also followed steps 7-13?  Did you add the Jar file to your classpath or module?

This does not tell us whether MySQL is actually running.

That error occurs before even trying to get to MySQL, so whether it was running or not you'd still get that error.
It's simply down to it not being on the runtime classpath.
