Could you please rank your top 5 new exam topics to skip due to the impending 816 retirement alarm clock?

Depends how you define "new".

The only "new" exam topic on the 817 (since the 815/816) is Deque. If you mean things in the Complete Study Guide, there aren't many. CallableStatement is one. The others are in the blog post linked above.

Great point!  Unfortunately for me, I don't have the privilege to actually work with Java 11 for work at all.  Rather, we just "upgraded" to Java 8 (and thanks to you, Scott, & Enthuware, I did achieve OCA 8).

So the horribly unfair question is, "What are the top 5 (ordered?) new Java 11 exam objectives that may be skipped due to lack of time to properly prepare due to the 816's abrupt retirement?"  This would especially include those topics that are less likely to reappear across multiple 816 exam questions (possibly in hopes of tricking me into thinking that they may be asking about one topic but may be referring to others).

Oh. So you mean if you want to rush and take the 816. You can't skip objectives. The test comes with a random sampling of questions so you don't know what you will get. That said, streams and modules feature heavily. So if you are going to bet and skip features, don't skip those!

Thanks for taking on that unfair question.
