Hi all,
I am planning to take up the IBM websphere certification exam (test 158) in 2-3 months time. I am an SCJP1.4 and don't have any other experience or knowledge in this area...meaning, I am totally new to JDBC,EJB,JSP,XML and stuff like that...
Could any one who has given the exam please suggest me as to how to go about preparing for the exam and how hard it will be for a beginner like me, the books you recommend and about any mock exams that are available for free.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Vidya.

Hello Vidya,
There are plenty of IBM preparation materials.
If you have already been to the IBM site for professional certification, ignore this.
a. For preparation reading material:
- Check the Professsional Cert. from IBM pages.
- When you click on educational resources for test 158, you can get a list of redbooks which are ideal for preparing for the topic.
- Alternatively, you can search the IBM redbooks site (www.redbooks.ibm.com) and you will get variety of books addressing various levels of expertise. Search this site. You might getting more than what you have asked for!
b. For practice tests:
- IBM has its own test practice site. There are links to this from the professional certification pages within the IBM site.
- You would need to register for this servie. You can then take online tests, which simulate the actual ones. The level of difficulty also closely matches what comes in the actual exam.
I hope this will provide u the info needed.
If u need more, post a reply back.
Best Regards,
-Prasad.

All of the following truths are shameless lies. But what about this tiny ad:
