The line

is wrong. The module is called zoo.staff without the animal part.
That's why you'll get a warning if executing the statement:

Furthermore in the section "More About Describing Modules" it is written:

As a reminder, the following are the contents of module-info in zoo.animal.care

This cannot be true, because on page 472 it was never written to change the module this way. The only modification written was:

So the only way to achieve a qualified exports output at this place is to write the describe command for the talks module:

Or you change the phrase "As a reminder" in the book to "If you change the contents ...."

Greetings, Salutations and Howdy, Anton!

I am just up to reading the 11th Chapter now, and made sure to visit the errata page up-front so I don't repeat anything already listed here:
https://www.selikoff.net/ocp11-1/

(the official errata page).

I definitely see your first complaint is listed there as of some time ago, as I read the chapter I intend to see if you have discovered another independent issue that remains after the rest of the Chapter 11 errata are applied (I already went thru correcting all zoo.animal.staff references to zoo.staff -- I guess labor laws prohibit employing animals in that state, and all zoo.animals to zoo.animal ).

They did a very good job of cleaning up the chapters that were updates from the earlier books, but as you probably know, this is a totally "new chapter" since none of the module functionality existed in Java 8.

This seems to be a pretty meaty chapter, and has a bunch of foreshadowing of things that were only found on the 816 exam, but are probably all in scope for the 819 we both presumably face, so I want to really know it to well to head off problems when I get to that stuff in the other book.  This was the easy one!

Thanks,
Jesse

I finished my first pass thru the chapter and completely agree with Anton.  It is relatively minor, but for those trying to follow along step-by-step will for sure cause them to do a double take wondering if two pages got stuck together as they were working thru it...

I have more questions/comments/complaints/quibbles/whatever about the chapter and will post those separately to not hijack this thread.

Confirmed and added to the errata. I like the "if you change" suggestion .
