Is there a book to study from for the oracle 1Z0-819 certificate?

This summer I took the oracle 1Z0-808 (java 8 associate) exam. Now I would like to take the newly released 1Z0-819 (java 11 professional) exam.

After doing some research I found that there is a study guide called [OCP Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 11 Programmer II Study Guide (https://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Certified-Professional-Programmer-Study/dp/1119617626) for the 1Z0-816 and 1Z0-817 exams.

Can I use this book to prepare for the 1Z0-819 exam?
Is there a difference between 1Z0-817 and 1Z0-819 in terms of the content and knowledge requirement?

Welcome to the Ranch

Have a look at the author's website. That page includes a link about 1Z0‑819.
Yes, there is a difference; 819 requires nearly all the knowledge for both 815 and 816.

Please check whether there is an upgrade exam from Java8 to Java11; I think there is. That may be a better option than 819.

From what I understood, after the 808 I can go for ether of these options:

1. Take the 819 (which as you said is one exam but contains all the materials of both 815 and 816)
2. Take the 816

I don't quite get it, shouldn't someone who want's to take the 816, take the 815 first?

Which exam have you passed? Is it Associate or Programmer for Java8? Please check the prerequisites for the 816 exam; that may require the 815, which appears no longer to be available. In which case you can't sit 816. There is an upgrade from Java8→Java11, but that may require both Java8 exams. So you can sit the two Java8 exams and the upgrade exam (??817??) or you can go straight on to 819.
You will have to check the exams' requirements on the Oracle website because I find it hard to remember all the numbers and prerequisites and I might be mistaken.

Oracle has discontinued the two part Java 11 Certification exams (OCP Java 11 part 1 (1Z0-815) and OCP Java 11 part 2 (1Z0-816)) and has replaced them with just one exam - OCP Java 11 Developer Exam 1Z0-819.

So, it doesn't matter whether you  have passed 1z0808 or not. You still need to take 1z0819 to get OCP 11 certificate.

But if you have passed 1z0809, you have two options - 1z0817 or 1z0819.

I thought you said 816 had come back temporarily, but I don't think SN has the prerequisites for it.

Nope, it's definitely dead.  Never came back.

Jeanne and I did post an 1Z0-819 exam page to guide those using our books for that exam.  There's a 95% overlap between the 1Z0-819 exam and the older 1Z0-815 and 1Z0-816 exams so the books are perfectly fine for the 1Z0-819 exam.
