Does the Driver Node in Spark do computation too like worker nodes besides giving tasks to workers ?

In Spark, the driver node divides computation into tasks and gives to the executors running on the worker nodes. Does the driver node also do computation in addition to giving tasks to to worker nodes or there is no computation that happens on the worker nodes?
