Hi all,
1. Is the successor of test 158(IBM WAS,V4.0) coming in the near future for WAS version 5.0?
I'm planning to take 158 in a month or 2, should I wait for the updated test or go with it this year?
2. Does the test 158 cover EJB1.1 or EJB2.0?
Thanks,
Vidya.

Vidya,
1. http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/certs/adedserv40.shtml mentions that
"This certification role based on V4 of the product, will be withdrawn/retired on September 30, 2003. Please refer to the offering based on V5."
2. It covers EJB 1.1.

Thank you Panagiotis. Oops...I started preparing for this test from about a month or so :-(
I gave a search in the IBM website by test number and so didn't get to know about this retirement as they have not posted that note against the test objectives and description for test 158 !
Anyway, I may have to wait till a new test is released now...
Thanks,
Vidya.

Vidya,
You need not wait. Here is the situation wrt test 158 transition:
- Test 158 ("WAS AEs v4.0") gets replaced by Test 287 ("Enterprise App. Dev. using WS Studio v5.0").
- The "Enterprise Developer" certification gets renamed from "WAS AEs v4.0" to "WS Studio v5.0".
You could even register for Test 287 today if you felt like it.
The change makes sense, if you think about it, as developer certifications are now named by the IDE tool (Studio), whereas only admin
certs keep getting named by the runtime (WAS).
Actually, I like the fact that you brought this issue up, because it gave myself too the chance to look into it and understand the new situation.
Panagiotis.

Thank you Panagiotis a lot.
I think, I will go for the new test now.
Vidya.

She'll be back. I'm just gonna wait here. With this tiny ad:
