I have a login page which allows authorized users to access a software. I have a link of the page which points to the exe file. This link can be seen and can be passed on to people. How do I restrict people from using the link? PLease send in your ideas or suggestions. Can it be restricted by restricting the context root?
When you say you have a login page, are you using the container managed security (basic, form based, etc)? You can then secure directories, and users will be forced to login before the server will give them any resources from those directories - executables or otherwise.
