When does in memory code get triggered in dataframes as compared to action call in RDD

Spark has concept of lazy evaluation. In case of RDD the code for transformations is held in memory code in Data Acyclic Graph and gets triggered when an Action is called. What about in case of Dataframes ? What what point does this code get triggered in case of dataframes ? Thanks
