I would use the precautionary principle. Have one member of the family eat some of them, then if that member dies, discard the rest of the mushrooms. Be sure to wash your hands after that.
There won't be any mushrooms to discard if one person eats them all. And washing hands won't prevent fingerprints on the cooking pans; you need gloves to do that.
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
