What Big Data fundamentals should one learn when big data technologies will keep changing

Big Data technologies keep changing. Earlier, Hadoop was prominent which had map reduce, no SQL database HBase etc. Then came Spark and now it is lot faster tha map reduce and has other advantages too thus and the latter is hardly used nowdays for any new projects. Tommorrow some framework would come which would replace spark.

So, what are big data fundamentals that one can learn although the big data technologies may keep changing ?
