Hello folks,

i finally made it- passed the 1Z0-817 certification exam this week, with a score of 74%.
It took me roundabout 3 months of intensive learning (2-3 evenings every week).

As usually, it was a good way to get to know about the latest java features by preparing
to the exam- most of the features I haven´t and wouldn´t have used directly in my daily work as web-developer.

Thanks to the great book of Selikoff/Boyarsky "OCP Study Guide for Exam 1Z0-816 & 1Z0-817" and special thanks to
Mikalai Zaikin (http://java.boot.by/ocpjd11-upgrade-guide/) which were great sources for learning.
Finally, the Enthuware Mockups were also very helpful in the last steps of preparation (Latest test runs, I had ~80% there).

I´ve achieved my exam as e-certificate and badge- but I just wanna asking if I would still get the printed certification exam
by post?

Didn´t get any mail for approving my postal address- for the previous certifications from Oracle, I had them two weeks later in my
letter box.

Kind regards,
André

First off, congratulations on passing the exam and thrilled we could help!

Unfortunately, no, Oracle does not mail certifies (or pins) like they used to (or Sun used).  In Oracle's CertView page you can navigate to eCertificate and print a certificate yourself.  I find the digital badges to be more useful, though, since they can be shared/verified with employers directly.

You showed up just in time for the waffles! And this tiny ad:
