Hello, i'm trying to complete a project until I ran into a brickwall. The instructions say that I should have a HEADER and FOOTER value that should be found in the ServletContext of my deployment descriptor. At first I thought it was easy by just putting the usual <div> tags in the context parameter but boy was I wrong. Any help? Thanks in advanced!

Welcome to the Ranch.

The DD does not have a "ServletContext", but it does have context parameters, as you found out. While you didn't say what, exactly, you tried, and what, exactly, the result was, my guess would be that you didn't escape the special characters (like <) and/or didn't enclose the escaped HTML in a CDATA section. This may help: https://www.educba.com/xml-special-characters/. If the problem is something else, tell us in detail what you tried.

Hello! I read what you sent me and it worked like a charm! And yes, the special characters were a problem but now it's sorted. Thank you very much, I appreciate it!

You showed up just in time for the waffles! And this tiny ad:
