Hi,
I thought I would post this here as it is the most popular forum in the "Products" section, and wanted to gather some responses.
I heard it on the grapevine that the new Sun App Server shipped with j2EE1.4 SDK is not considered a RI but a full fledged coomercial grade app server - or at least will be with the upcoming release to Version 8. And the standard version will be free, with a drug-enhanced enterprise version at cost. Is this correct? And secondly will Sun be pushing it to dominate or at least compete, and is it worthwhile gaining experience in? Who thinks it will be accepted and become defacto app server.

Allright I'll bite.
Sure it's worth getting some experience on it if you don't have any other app server experience.
Is it going to be the defacto server dominating the market - I doubt it.
I suspect the freely available downloaded version will not scale like the drug induced one.
Down load the 1.4 J2EE tutorial, you'll have a blast.
The J2EE forum might well be a better place for this thread.
