Hi all,
I am new to Websphere. I installed websphere Appserver 5.0 with IBM web server. I typed http://localhost:80/ and the web server default page appeared. when I clicked configure server, the screen asks me userid and password.. I gave the user id which I used to install the webserver appserver but it did not accept.
Can anyone help me out in finding the default userid and password. or a way to create a new userid password, so that I can learn some configuration.

I have one more basic doubt.

say for example I am using websphere appserver and iplanet as the webserver. when a user request a page the request comes to the webserver, if the page is a dynamic page the webserver routes the request to appserver. (please correct me if I am wrong). if this is the case.. how do the iplanet know to which appserver it need to route. that is where do i specify or tell the iplanet to use the appserver.
Someone please clarify my doubt.

Thanks in advance

WAS has HTTP plugin which routes the requests to the application servers. I think best is to read some RedBook about that.
