If you install RSA it should include RAD.

Cool thanks.

Hey, I feel lucky to have my answer by a guy who's book I just recently purchased. The stuff in your book should work for RAD6 too right? I installed the 5.1 test server insterad of 6 for now. I like the book, I'm learning the EJB stuff.

Hey, now that I do have an expert here I must ask a question that is killing me..

I am using WAS 5,1 and Websphere MQ 5.3 as the jms provider, when the message is picked up by my MDB, I simply determin what kind of jms message it is..BytesMessage, TextMessage etc, then hand it off to a Stateless Session Bean. The SLSB uses a few POJO's the a DB update, but the onmessage() run the entire time, How do i have my MDB hand it off to the SLSB and then return to pool immediately to get more messages? I do not have XA turned on for the QCF..

thanks Kyle

Glad to help -- anyway, there is no way to have the MDB hand the message off "asynchronously" to the SLSB -- the SLSB method must complete before the onMessage() method will complete. In WAS 6.0 there IS a way to do this with Async beans, but it's not possible in WAS 5.1 (unless you're using WBI-SF 5.1, which is a different story).

But anyway, don't worry about it. The MDB's have a thread pool (on the listener port) as well, so things will already happen in a multithreaded way. You should be golden already.
