Creating new rules for code review in RAD

Hi all ,

I am new to this RAD tool and have no hands on experience over this
tool.

My requirement is to write a new rule for code review purpose and how can i do it RAD.

can anybody pls help me out

Sanjay,
RAD provides templates that you can use to build the rules. First thing is to think about what you want your rule to be. Then go into the workspace preferences and look for the code review section. The templates are there.

Does the code rules engine come from Eclipse? I don't recall.

Yes. But RAD adds a bunch more rules/templates out of the box.

Hi,

First of all Thanks for your reply.

But what if i want to write a brand new rule that is not there in
template list . Suppose assume that if i need to review my code in which
all the resources i had used is closed in the finally block.

How to write a new code rule for this kind of requirement using RAD. This rule is not there in template. So i need to write a new one .

so how can i do it in RAD ..??? help me out.

Go To RAD->windows->Preferance->PMD->Rules Configuration->Add Rule
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
