WSAD vs RAD

Hello,

Can someone clarify if the above products are related? I know WSAD (Websphere Application Development) has been around a while but RAD (Rational Application Developer) is new, right?

Which are more widely used? What is RAD stable to be used?

Jesus is correct. WSAD's last version is 5. RAD starts with version 6. It is essentially the same IDE - they are both based on Eclipse and the numbering scheme continues.

The change in name is to reflect IBM's acquisition and integration of the Rational product line.

If you are starting out, I recommend RAD 6. WSAD support ends sometime this year and it will save you a migration effort.

If you haven't used Eclipse before (WSAD/RAD are based on Eclispe), take a look at some Eclispe tutorials.
