I'm attempting to update our application's use of spring-security 5 to the new version in spring-security 6 (6.2.1 to be exact). The problem I'm having is the replacement of the AccessDecisionManager and AccessDecisionVoters to the new AuthorizationManager. While the online documentation at does mention the AuthorizationManager it does not explain clearly enough for me how to properly implement a custom AuthorizationManager.

I've also looked into the newly released Pro Spring Security 3rd Edition by Massimo Nardone and Carlo Scarioni but sadly they seem to focus on the AccessDecisionManager and AccessDecisionVoters although these classes are now deprecated (as of version 6).

Does anyone have any further references that could help me find my way?
