Technically, Internet Radio isn't "FM", it's digital with "FM" sound quality. But I won't complain. Before Internet Radio, listening to far-off stations meant late-night AM radio skip or the notoriously noisy shortwave AM transmissions. Although I once followed a Jacksonville, FL FM station all the way to St. Petersburg.
I don't listen as much as I used to. I liked to put on a New Age channel while doing software development. Or more recently, Die Neue Welle out of Karlsruhe Germany. Their programming wasn't the same stale old Top 40 that gets satellite-splattered all over the USA, and included hits that were big in Europe but unheard in the US.
Also I got a kick out of commercials for opticians and bowling alleys and the like local to Karlsruhe.
Experience keeps a dear School, but Fools will learn in no other.
