Hello,

I am a SCJP and SCWCD. I would like to get some experience on Websphere. I do not need to learn whole websphere.

Could someone please advice which exam will be best for me as a SCWCD?

Thank you in advance.

I think it's IBM's 252...The Developer exam, not the associate exam. It's almost all Servlet and JSP stuff. Know the IRAD tool a little bit, and you're golden.

I think with SCWCD, and a little knowledge of Web Services, you could walk in right now and get a passing score.

The associate exam on the other hand is very 'tool based.' You gotta know the various options of the wizards and stuff.

Best of luck.

When I was browsing through IBM website I found

252 - IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.0

253 - IBM Certified System Administrator- WebSphere Application Server, Network Deployment, V6.1

Shouldn't I go for 253? Is that only the version or there are any other difference? Objectives looks preety same. Is there any benefit doing 252, not 253?

Any response will be appreciated.

Ok, I believe it is not 252, it is 255, which suit best with SCWCD/SCJP.

Now I need help with 255 Book. Could someone please help me out with the best book I can go for "Test 255: Developing with IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software V6" ?

I found this book which reviews are good. But it is not available anymore.
"Rational Application Developer, IRAD ExamScam: IBM Certified Application Developer Exam Certification Study Guide - IBM's Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software v 6.1 Test 255 & 256 (Paperback)"

Please let me know if you know anything that would help.

Thank you in advance.

252 is for V6
253 is for v6.1
I am posting some questions and answer for your reference..

[ UD: It appears as if these questions are straight out of the exam, which is illegal. They have been removed pending further investigation. ]

Sorry to say, but didn't get very useful response for this thread. Probably there is no good book around for this ...

Anyway I will try to keep looking and go through the Red books and online docs.

Cheers everyone.

In general, if you are going for DEV-based exams (RAD, etc.), you can manage it with tutorials, books. But for Websphere admin-related exams, it would greatly help if you have hands-on experience. You can then follow it up with redbooks. I know they are laborious, but you can mark the required topics for your preparation. You can take some mock exams available (i guess IBM has one for $10) to see if you are there w.r.t the difficulty level.

Also, IBM has excellent online info about the usage of their products like the one shown below -
