I am rather new to Linux and I am trying to install RAD 7.0.0 on Linux Ubuntu 7.10 using IBM Installation Manager 1.1.0.2. The installation fails when Installation Manager is attempting to install manageprofiles.sh.

By default, the application is installed in /opt/IBM/SDP70 and /opt/IBM/SDP70Shared.
I am running Installation Manager using: gksudo /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/launcher. Also after a few attempts I have applied chmod -R 777 . on the IBM directory, trying to rule out any permission issues.
The error message is:
Error executing /opt/IBM/SDP70/runtimes/base_v61/bin/manageprofiles.sh operation (status=1). See agent output log for more information: /var/ibm/InstallationManager/logs/native/20080313_2158.log.

When doing so, the log file reads:
INSTCONFFAILED: The profile could not be created. For more information, consult the /opt/IBM/SDP70/runtimes/base_v61/logs/manageprofiles/AppSrv01_create.log file.
Another log file, except this one doesn't exist (there is nog logs directory in base_v61).

Last but not sure if this is relevant: at the final page of the installation wizard there is a 'View Log File' option that shows the message hereabove, plus a warning message that says:
Error at line 1968, column 74 (com.ibm.cic.common.logging.parser.LogRecord@7e867e86): An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x0) was found in the element content of the document.

Can anyone help? Thank you.
