Hi,
My company is currently reviewing their existing technology to incorporate Java (particularly EJB).
Currently they use heaps of Oracle Report 6.0 and Oracle Forms 6.0. I know a little of Ent Report Writer and Quadbase Report Writer, but can anyone else recommend or comment on other equivalent products?
Also, does anyone of you know of a way to "migrate" from proprietory PL/SQL used by Oracle Reports or Forms to more open Java standard?

Thank you.

Have you checked with Oracle on migration strategies since they are now pushing their JDeveloper toolset?
http://www.oracle.com/ip/develop/ids/index.html
Also, if you are talking about migrating the PL/SQL to Java Stored Procedures then I would advise you to do some serious benchmark testing because I have heard of performance problems in this area.

Thanks for the response.
I'm pretty new to Oracle side of technology. I have searched exhaustively on this but ended up mostly marketing gimmicks. Can anyone recommend me a book on "PL/SQL to Java Stored Procedures" and with simple samples on building Application via ORacle App Server 9i.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
