8i -> 9i and back again

Just tried to run 9iR2 version of exp on an 8i database & it doesn't work
Anybody know any tool that can dump an 8i schema then recreate it as 9i?
I've looked at TOAD but it doesn't have that feature (I have 7.0.4.26).
Just table defs, constraints, data, (rebuild)indexes.

I am sure Oracel has a tool for that. Can you use DB Links to link between the two databases and then run queries to bring the data over?

The 8i version of exp will happily import into 9i so that's most of my problems solved
