Toad is an "IDE" for an Oracle database. You can visually view and edit the database, etc. I'm looking for something I can use at home for free. Does anyone know of any?

Well, its only a trial and you have to have the oracle client installed (which I can't find on their site). I'd like something I can use without worry of trials running out, etc.

If you want to use it with an IDE, Try using IDEA. It has an SQL Plug in which allows you to manipulate data like in TOAD.

Personally I believe Oracle Enterprise manager does everything you need to do. I primarily get away with just sql*plus

I tried using Enterprise Manager Console, but I don't enough privs to use it. I'm just a student using one of our databases. I got the free version of Toad and the 9i client, but I don't know how to work with the tnsnames file to where I can use Toad.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
