Has anyone taken the Oracle University Instructor led courses for the DBA certification?
Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL
Oracle9i: Database Administration Fundamentals I
Oracle9i: Database Administration Fundamentals II
Oracle9i: Database Performance Tuning
How would you rate your experience?
Are they worth the $2500/class? I know they offer discounts once in a while.
In order to obtain an OCP, I understand that you have to attend at least one of these courses in person. They offer a self-paced CD/ROM bundle of all four courses for around $2150.
If you had to attend one class in person, which one would it be?

Leo. I have taken the first two classes in an instructor lead classroom. However, it wasn't at an Oracle location. It was University of California, Irvine Extension, or UCI Extension for short. They are fully licensed and accredited Oracle classes. Meaning Oracle sponsers them and gives them their books and it classify's as if you had actually taken it at Oracle Univeristy.
One major point is that it is half the price. And it isn't a 1 week class. It is 10 weeks 4 hours a week at night. So for those that can't take a complete week off from work to take a class, can still take the class at night.
I really liked both classes, and can also get a UCI DBA certificate by completing the four classes.
I like instructor led classes the best, that is how I learn the best. Other people learn better other ways, so it depends on who is taking the class.
Good Luck
Mark

Thanks Mark for your reply,
I agree that taking off a week at a time is not really a possibility for me. I know that a few of the community colleges around here offer Oracle classes, but I don't think they are geared toward what you would find at UCI or the Oracle University.
UCI is only 394 miles to west of me. That's only a six or seven hour drive, right. Maybe it's time to move.
