Hi,

I have installed the Oracle 9i Database server on my computer. I have no static IP or a web server that is registered to a DNS...
Now, is it possible to connect to my oracle's server from another machine using sqlplus and using the dynamic IP assigned to me by my DSL provider.
for example if the ip is 64.229.220.130 and my database global name is orcl
what would be the configuration and what would go to the sqplplus's HOST STRING entry.
As you know you can access the IIS via http://64.229.220.130/index.html
or in the case of tomcat server http://64.229.220.130:8080/index.html
is such a thing possible for a remote connection to oracle server using plsql.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Assad
