Any OCP ranchers
Can anyone advise on the following?
Do I need to enroll in Oracle training course (very expensive) to learn and obtain certification? Is DIY acceptable and will it be ok with Oracle themselves?
Regards

Yup, they make you take one course in person through Oracle University or take one via the instructor led online courses, but at least you get to pick which one you take with them. In other words, you can't just buy all of the self-study cd roms and expect to get an OCP.
The Oracle website has info on certification here.

Hi Stephen,
There is one exception.
If you have passed any Oracle9i DBA certificate components (1z0-007, 1z0-031, 1z0-032 or 1z0-033) on or before Sep 1, 2002, then the course requirement is waived. Otherwise, without taking a course offered by Oracle University or Oracle certified training partner, even you passed all 4 exams, you will not get certified.
However, you can still get OCA if you passed 1z0-007 and 1z0-031 without taking any courses.
