Hi
I have a similar problem like Vibha.
I am just starting to study for 007 exam and wanted to have a
sample database installed on my PC. Unfortunately I have only
1 Gig hard drive space left. Does anyone have any suggestions
about a sample database?
Do any of the books come with a sample database?
Does anyone know how much space is needed for the Oracle 9i personal edition?
Also, how is the Sybex book? I went through various forums and
I am getting mixed recommendations. It is quite confusing as to
which book to buy. I have about 3 years of working experience in
8i but none in 9i. Please suggest any books that will help me.
Thank you very much

Oracle 9i comes with a HR schema for samples. At the end of the install you recieve a screen detailing password management. By default this user is locked. You need to unlock the HR user to get access to this sample schema.

Hi,
I have bought the certification book for Oracle 9i SQL. I am liking the book so far. I do not have much of Oracle experience so I find some topics hard to understand, for them I refer some online tutorials. I think the combination of book and online resources are good.
All the best.
Vibha.

If it is possible, I recommend you to read the ITL books provided by the Oracle University.
ITL contains several examples and labs for students to follow. And the beauty of ITL is, the questions of the real exams are sometimes directly copy from the content.

Hi Vibha,
When you join the OCP 9i DBA training course offered by the Oracle University, you will get one set of the hardcopy.

Oh, sorry, I made a mistake.
The books should be ILT books, not ITL.
ILT refers to Instructor-led training. In addition, you cannot buy it in bookstores, you will get it when you attend the training course.
