Hi all,
I downloaded Oracle 8i personal edition 8.1.7. when I tried to install it, the installer is not starting. I am not sure that I can post this question here or not. but if somebody can help me in this it would be great.

My operating system is win2000 with service pack 4 installed.

I disabled all the virus software and tried to install but still the installer is not starting..

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Sivaraman,
You can definitely post the question here!

I assume you have Java installed? Which version?

Also, check the process when you click on the installer to see if anything new is coming up. If so, sometimes you need to kill it in an effort to get it to continue.

hi,
Thanks for your reply. I solved the problem by getting a new version of sysjit.dll and overwriting my copy. This solution I got by searching this forum. Thanks to that guy. This site is really useful, that for every problem some or the other soln is posted.

once again Thanks to all
