Installed Oracle10g.
I could login to OEM with SYS as SYSDBA.
Default orcl DB is also installed.
When i open SQLPLUS, it prompts for user/pass and connection string.
I have provided sys/<pass> - orcl. I get the following error

ORA:0107: login as SYSDBA

But when i connect using cmd prompt, it gets connected.
i.e connect sys/<pass> as SYSDBA on the cmd line.

Can any one help me -

Anand,
When you type in the connect string by hand are you including the "as SYSDBA" part? The system user needs to connect as the dba role.
